Starting in Player Development -What Value Do You Provide RIGHT NOW?

You have garnered the attention of a player development professional or someone that works in sports. After hearing your passion and plan, they ask you what value can you provide today?

WHAT VALUE DO YOU PROVIDE RIGHT NOW?

This may seem unnecessary but is a valid question. The person in the role has a lot of what you mentioned covered and wants to know how you enhance the work they are doing.

The third step is: Knowing the Value Your Provide

Knowing the value, you provide in player development can enhance and speed up your chances of getting in a role. Instead of highlighting all that you know, you zero in on a niche strength you have which enhances the lives of athletes. This can be a plethora of things, but as you do your research and create a plan, you may notice some areas of improvement many player development departments need. Once this area of need has been found ask yourself if you can provide value in that area immediately. If so, when you are or get a chance to talk to player development professionals mention that and let them know you can provide value to their program in this area.
