3.20.22 - One Year Anniversary
If you’ve been following us on social media, you’ve probably seen the 3.20.22 posts which have appeared on your timeline. (If you’re not following us, follow us at @btf_program on IG and Twitter.) Hopefully these tweets and posts have garnered some interest from you and what were up to next. Of course I can’t spill the beans of what's cooking in the kitchen, but I will detail why I picked 3.20.22 and why it’s an important date for me to show what’s next with the Beyond the Field Program.
March 20th is the one year anniversary of the Beyond the Field EBook release. This date is big for me because it was the date I took a huge leap of faith and shared the program I've used during my time as a Director of Player Development. The process of putting the book together was one that helped me learn even more about player development and more importantly myself. As many of you know when I started this role in 2016, I did not have many resources to direct me in how to excel in this position. Over time through God’s grace and the working with and connecting with incredible professionals, I was able to set up a player development program that would benefit current and former players in the programs I worked for. During the tedious times of figuring out how to make a program that created generational impact, I decided to make sure that I would do something to make certain that no one would have to go through the growing pains that I did. This is why the book was written, this is why I had to fight against my fears of inadequacy, doubt, and imposter syndrome. I was determined to ensure that no one who wanted to be in this life-giving position of player development would feel like they’re alone.
One year after writing the book, over 120 books have sold, multiple downloads or resources have come from the website and the blog section has been frequented with thousands of views. This all is a success for me when I think of data or numbers used for the company, but the greatest joy I get is from someone learning more about player development through the resources. Whether speaking to professionals who are looking for a career switch in athletics or college students in sports management programs who want to get into player development, providing information for them has been exhilarating. This has been one of my biggest confirmations of purpose, knowing I have been able to help others understand, explain and desire player development.
This brings us to the current moment and what’s next for Beyond the Field. It is my goal to continue to push the player development position forward and be a catalyst for its growth through all of athletics at every level.
With this goal as my focus I am excited to share that Beyond the Field is ……………………… well you’ll find out on 3.20.22.
God bless! Have a great day and CREATE GENERATIONAL IMPACT TODAY!.
